The Vet will be at El Bajio on Sunday, February 12 at 1:00 pm. He will do coggins test and any other shots if you let me know what you want at least a week before. This includes, rabbis, west Nile, and the other usual shots.

Went to the Texas State meeting of Charros on Saturday. Heard the reports from the zones and was very impressed with the amount of participation in Charreria for the year 2011. By what was said, it looks like there will be more in 2012. Victoriano Flores was appointed the Standard Bearer for the new Federation standards. They really look good. Also Victoriano handed out flyers for a Charro School he is starting. There is going to be Ridding, Roping and Mexican Folk Dancing. The presidents also decided to collect the money to work to change the laws about mangana. Since the PRCA has began helping to stop the spread of anti charro laws, it was decided to take a less confrontational approach

Had a really nice time at the Posada held by the Victoriano Flores family at 3 Potrillos. The feeling of family was everywhere. Kids running around and the food came from the participants. One problem, too much good food to eat. It was a hard place to stick to a diet. Hope they do it again next year. Traditions like this really make Charros stand out. Feliz Navidad.

Had a really great time at a dinner set up by Arnulfo Duran at a Resturant called Vierta on Roosevelt. The food was very good and when David Castro and Victoriano Flores began to sing with the Kareoke Machine, the fun really started. Remember the Posada this Saturday at 3 Potrillos. Hope to see you there.

Another event canciled due to rain. If we all work together, we could have a covered lienzo. The number of hits on the mangana web page has passed 100,000. Since we have been putting up videos of mangana, we have not had the really angry and profane messages we received at the beginning. We really believe that if people see the truth, most of them will agree with the Charros, that mangana is not any more dangerous then other equine events.

We need the rain, but had to cancil more events. We have to work together to get a covered lienzo. If worked properly, then everyone does well. If everyone works separatly, then nobody will do well. Everybody will just get by.

They had to cancil the coleadero at Bajio on Saturday. It rained. We need the rain, but it seems to come when we could use some sun shine. We do need a covered lienzo, but we have to work together to get it. One person can't do it all. If you have any ideas, let us know.

Went to the tournament at El Alazan, in Del Valle. Really nice block lienzo. The stock was good. It was a very nice day. Hope to be able to get back there soon. Jose Alvarado, says he is goint to have a Charreada in November. My wife is already to go.

I don’t remember who had the idea about the extra dollar for the fund, but it was a great one. The last two tournaments made $200.00 each and the single day events bring in anywhere between $50.00 and $100.00. We don’t ever want to raffle another horse. It is too much work. Maybe a couple of saddles next year. Once we get all the raffle money turned in, we will have more then $2,000.00 in the bank.

Forgot to mention Arnulfo Duran, in the last post. Arnulfo is one of those guys who is moving to get things done. Sometimes he is missed. Without him, Bajio would not be what it is. He really is an asset to Charreria.

Wonderful tournament at El Bajio. The weather finally cooperated. Really had a large turn out. Teams from all over Texas. It is great to see the Rodriguez brothers receiving such support. They really deserve it. You can’t find two nicer guys. Six Escaramuzas, the girls looking as beautiful as ever. This is what makes Charreria so good.
